Head Position

The Fish-Skull® has been designed to be versatile. The position of your materials combined with the correct head position of the skull will allow you to tie streamers in either the “hook down” or the “hook up” position.x

This is possible because the center of gravity and the majority of the weight has been placed below the hook shank. This produces a “keeling” effect that helps the fly to orientate itself in the correct position while being fished. This is similar to the effect a dumbbell has in helping flies tied with the hook up to stay in that position while being fished.
