Tony started tying in 1945, he belonged to a Fly Fishing Club that he started in his first year in High School in New Jersey. Tied for several years till he went into the Air Force. Got back into tying almost full time in 1988. Tony has have tied at a number of the East Coast shows and at Conclaves around the country.  He is also on the Pro Staff for Gudebrod, Dyna King, Conranch Hackles. Tony is noted for his “Froggie” and “Still Born Emerger” and several other flies he ties including the “Chili Pepper” and “Knit Piken Mayfly”.

Tony was selected as Fly Tyer of the Year at the FFF Southern Conclave in 2007, he also won the tying contest at the Smallmouth Rendezvous in Oklahoma in 2008. Tony has his flies in several books by well known writers and has had his flies featured in several magazines. Tony has two tying DVD’s, with nine flies and tying tips. In 1999, Tony started making bamboo rods from scratch, he also teaches bamboo rod making.
